Thousands Lost Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Weather Systems
Approximately 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, generating wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Hailstones and Broad Damage
Residents reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units activated to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, approximately one thousand residents in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received 598 calls for help across the region, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

- The Werribee area - recorded considerable destruction
- Hoppers Crossing area - various rescue reports
- Wyndham area - nearly 180 calls for assistance
At one point on Sunday, more than 28k energy customers in the state were lacking electricity.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent storm activity anticipated across various areas of both states.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This alert comes after past events where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the area.
